Scarce, delicate, and with a narrow firing window, so pure-ore pots are genuinely hard to make. Fires a tender yellow-green that turns quietly jade-like with use. A scholar's clay rather than a workhorse.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe form.\u003c\/strong\u003e The Qinquan form (秦权) dates to the Qing dynasty. Modelled on a Qin-dynasty weight — the standard that came with the unification of measures. A weight is an instrument of fairness, and the form carries that idea. Solid and low-centred, with a high arched handle. Long favoured by literati for what it stands for.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHow it was made.\u003c\/strong\u003e Fired in a wood kiln, where flame path and falling ash decide the surface.
