Handmade Han Jiang Yixing Zisha Teapot – Chijin Zini Clay, 170ml
This is a 170 ml han jiang teapot in Chijin Zini Clay, fully handmade, made in Dingshu, Yixing. Its Chinese name is 寒江.
The clay. A zini with a warm, reddish-gold cast in the fired body, sitting between the classic purples and the red clays. Behaves like zini — porous and rounding — but reads warmer in the hand and under tea light.
The form. The Han Jiang form (汉君) dates to the Qing dynasty. A flattened, broad-shouldered body descended from the Han-form family, with a stepped lid. Wide and calm, with strong horizontal lines.
How it was made. Built entirely by hand — the wall is beaten out from a slab and joined without a mould. Inside the body you can still read the tool marks and the joint line, which is how the method is verified.
Size and tea. At 170 ml this fills three or four cups at once — enough for guests without moving to a full teapot. Best suited to black tea, ripe pu-erh and roasted oolong.

Made by 范卫兵. We buy directly from the workshop rather than through a wholesaler, so the attribution comes with the pot.
