Heavy in tone and excellent at holding heat, which suits teas that want a long, hot steep.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe form.\u003c\/strong\u003e The Handuo form (汉铎) dates to the Qing dynasty. Modelled on a duo — the bronze handbell struck to call an assembly in the Han dynasty. Straight-walled and tapering upward to a flat lid. Upright and sober, with a real sense of cast metal about it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHow it was made.\u003c\/strong\u003e Built entirely by hand — the wall is beaten out from a slab and joined without a mould. Inside the body you can still read the tool marks and the joint line, which is how the method is verified.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSize and tea.\u003c\/strong\u003e 260 ml is a sharing pot. It suits a table of four or more, or a long single steep of something you want to drink slowly over an afternoon.
