Its Chinese name is 秦权.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe clay.\u003c\/strong\u003e Mined from the slope between Huanglong and Qinglong mountains, where red and yellow ores meet — so the fired body carries both, warm and softly mottled. Fine-grained with a gentle sand feel. It polishes to an oily lustre faster than most clays and brews sweet and round.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe form.\u003c\/strong\u003e The Qinquan form (秦权) dates to the Qing dynasty. Modelled on a Qin-dynasty weight — the standard that came with the unification of measures. A weight is an instrument of fairness, and the form carries that idea. Solid and low-centred, with a high arched handle.
