Its Chinese name is 秦权.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe clay.\u003c\/strong\u003e Zhuni fired in a reduction atmosphere — oxygen is limited late in the firing, which pulls the iron toward darker, cooler tones instead of bright red. Same dense zhuni body, an entirely different surface. Each firing comes out slightly different, so no two are quite alike.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe form.\u003c\/strong\u003e The Qinquan form (秦权) dates to the Qing dynasty. Modelled on a Qin-dynasty weight — the standard that came with the unification of measures. A weight is an instrument of fairness, and the form carries that idea. Solid and low-centred, with a high arched handle.
