Its Chinese name is 梨仕.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe clay.\u003c\/strong\u003e Zhuni fired in a reduction atmosphere — oxygen is limited late in the firing, which pulls the iron toward darker, cooler tones instead of bright red. Same dense zhuni body, an entirely different surface. Each firing comes out slightly different, so no two are quite alike.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe form.\u003c\/strong\u003e The Pear-Shaped form (梨形) dates to the late Ming to early Qing, attributed to the Mengchen lineage. A classic small zhuni form: narrow above, full below, like a ripe pear hanging on the branch, with a high neck and short spout.
